In 2009, A Solaris Executive with Newark Collegiate Academy (NCA) to provide pre-construction services for the first new school built in Newark in over 25 years. Due to the efficient management under a strict budget in a challenging environment, they were retained as Construction Manager to lead the full build-out. Working with KSS Architects, a 65,000 SF charter high school that includes classrooms, science labs, Mac labs, administrative offices, an art room, a theater arts studio, and a full court gymnasium; Was Created. The facility also features a cafeteria with a warming kitchen, an auditorium with a projection screen, and a fitness room, all complemented by inspiring views of the Newark skyline. Through extensive collaboration and strategic planning, the project was completed on time and under budget—at a cost nearly 30% lower per square foot than the average public school of its size.
